Shockles Anchor Snubber - Testimonials

I was recently anchored in a steep, rocky cove in my 43’ Beneteau in the northern end of the Inside Passage. During the night the tide went down 11’ and my anchor chain ended up rubbing against the rocks at the bottom of the cove. Around 1am I start to hear this deep rumbling noise on and off until I finally got up to take a look. The only solution is to take the tension off the anchor chain before it reaches the bow roller. So even though it was a calm evening (the boat movement was mainly due to the rapid rise and fall of the tide) I rigged one of your ‘Anchor Snubbers’ on my anchor chain and immediately the noise ceased. Amazing! So thanks to Shockles, I got a good night sleep. For the rest of my trip I rigged an ‘Anchor Snubber’ on my chain every night, even if it was calm.

“Solstice”

We arrived in a crowded anchorage in the Gulf Islands (southern B.C., Canada) and realized we needed to use a stern tie in order to keep my boat from swinging into other boats. By the time we got anchored and had run the stern tie to shore a stiff breeze had come up and I barely made it back to our boat in our small inflatable rowboat. My husband pulled on the stern tie to tighten it up but the wind was on our beam and it was nearly impossible to pull it in. He could only pull it in a couple feet at a time before it would get yanked out of his hands. That’s when he remembered the little “linegrabber” loops he had bought from you. He rigged one on the stern tie line and fastened it to a cleat. Then every time he pulled in on the line during a lull in the wind, I would slide it down and fasten it tight so it held the line in place. At first I was extremely skeptical that this tiny loop would hold our entire boat (42’ Grand Banks) as the wind pulled the line super tight, but it did! It took us over 20 minutes to get the stern tie tight but without the linegrabber loops I don’t think we ever could have done it at all. What an amazing product. My husband just ordered 3 more – with my blessing!
