Summer in Canada

Summer Inside Passage CanadaWho says it’s never summer in Canada, eh?

The feisty crew of the f/v (Fun Vessel) SHOCKLES is hard at work (as usual), plying the warm and beautiful waters of the Inside Passage (the route between Vancouver Island and mainland Canada on the Pacific coast). With several thousands of islands to explore, whales, Orcas, dolphins, seals, eagles, bears and all sorts of other wildlife everywhere, and 18 hours of daylight, we may return more tired than when we left.

We bought our boat, a 1982 Ocean Alexander, last summer. It is warm, dry, comfortable, and best of all has a big flying bridge where we spend all our time soaking up the sun (and dreaming up new Shockles products).

We’re got all our summer toys on board – stand-up paddle boards, surf boards, folding bicycles, kayaks, guitar, 12′ Avon tender for long distance day-trip exploring, fishing gear, dive gear – and of course everything is tied down tight with Mini-Shockles and ShockStraps. We’re also testing our latest new product, “Mittenz”, which are neoprene covers that slip over the carabiners at the end of Shockles to prevent the carabiners from accidentally banging on your boat.

So while we’re hard at work there actually are still stragglers left back in the office in Hood River to get your order out (although keeping them inside during the long, hot, fun Hood River summers is hard!). Carry on!
